United have held talks with Leipzig regarding how much a deal would cost, with Newcastle also in ongoing negotiations, having already made a second bid in the region of £70m.

Jaffna Kings and Colombo Strikers are the franchises to be ousted this time by a league that has struggled to hold on to franchise owners.The LPL is in its fifth year, but none of the original five owners are now part of the league. Jaffna Kings were in fact the longest-standing owners, having been part of the LPL since the second season. Their exit now means that the Jaffna franchise, which has won three of the four LPL tournaments to be played so far, is now about to have a third owner. With these two exits, the LPL now has no franchise owners with a history stretching back beyond 2024. The owners of the other three franchises – Galle Marvels, Dambulla Sixers, and Kandy Falcons – were all new entrants last year.SLC’s reasons for terminating the franchises was “failure to fulfill their contractual obligations”, though the board did not elaborate on what these failures were. “Sri Lanka Cricket and the IPG Group (the LPL’s organising partners) remain committed to upholding the integrity, standards, and success of the Lanka Premier League” the board release said.SLC has not yet released the dates for this year’s tournament.

وحلل بورول الحالة المثيرة للجدل في تصريحات خاصة لـ “btolat.com”، وقال: “وفقًا لما شاهدته في تلك الحالة فإن المدافع يستعد لتشتيت الكرة وفي نفس اللحظة وضع المهاجم قدمه”.
وتابع: “لا اعتقد أنها ركلة جزاء لأن المدافع ليس لديه الوقت لوقف تشتيت الكرة، لا يوجد أي نية للإيذاء من قبل المدافع”.
وأضاف: “مع العلم أن هذه الحالات ليست بها فرص لتسجيل الأهداف، عليك أن ترى اتجاه الكرة، والتي لا تتجه نحو المرمى ولا تشكل هجمة واعدة، في بعض الأحيان يبالغ المهاجمون في رد فعلهم بعد الاحتكاك بالمدافعين”.
ركلة جزاء الزمالك في مباراة البنك الأهلي
وقال: “أنظر، اعتقد ان اتخاذ قرارًا باحتساب ركلة جزاء هي أقصى عقوبة في كرة القدم ويجب أن يكون هناك سبب قوي، ليست كل الالتحامات ركلات جزاء”.
واستمر: “في هذه الحالة، لا يتقن المدافع توقيت قفزته ولكنه لم يقصد لمس الكرة وضربها لينزلها إلى الأرض، لذلك لا أعتقد أنها ركلة جزاء لأنها مثل الحالة الأولى، لا توجد فرصة لتسجيل هدفًا ومنعها برغم عدم قصده”.
وواصل تصريحاته: “في رأيي أن ركلة الجزاء التي يجب أن تحتسب تكون بعد منع فرصة محققة للتسجيل وهو أمر غير موجود في تلك الحالة كذلك”.

Reports from the last week or so have gone as far as claiming that personal terms have already been agreed and that an offer of around £61m would be enough to seal the deal.
It would be a brilliant bit of business if the Blues could get it done, and yet, they still want to do even more, as they’re now closing in on someone who could end up being unplayable alongside Simons.
At least that’s according to a recent report from transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, who has reaffirmed that Chelsea want to sign Alejandro Garnacho this summer.
The Italian journalist goes further than that, though, revealing that the Argentine ace has now agreed to “every detail of personal terms” with the Blues and that he “only wants” a move to Stamford Bridge.
Romano doesn’t mention how much the 21-year-old could end up costing, but based on stories from the last few weeks, it would appear that the Pensioners do not want to pay much more than £40m.
While Garnacho could still end up costing a little more than that, this feels like a deal that’s worth pursuing, as he’s got plenty of potential, and alongside Simons, he could become unplayable.
Why Garnacho could be unplayable with Simons
While it might have seemed unlikely a few weeks ago, Romano has made it quite clear that Chelsea want to sign Simons and Garnacho this summer, and though some might see that as overkill, we reckon they could be perfect teammates.
The first reason stems from their raw output last season, as an attacking player is always judged on their goal-scoring or chance-creating abilities.
For his efforts, the RB Leipzig star scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances, totalling 2763 minutes, which comes out to an impressive average of a goal involvement every 1.73 games, or every 145.42 minutes.

Then, in his 58 appearances last season, totalling 3568 minutes, the Madrid-born “superstar,” as dubbed by journalist Liam Canning, scored 11 goals and provided ten assists, which comes out to an average of a goal involvement every 2.76 games, or every 169.90 minutes, which is very impressive considering he was playing in a historically bad Manchester United team.
Not only do these numbers suggest that both players would be able to contribute in a meaningful way for the Blues next season, but they also make it clear that they’re both as good at scoring goals as they are at creating chances.
In other words, when playing together, opposition defenders will be unsure which one of them will be the creator and which one will be the finisher, and those minute moments of hesitation could allow them the space to thrive.
On top of this, both youngsters are more than comfortable playing as a ten or out wide on the wings.
This would allow them to play more games together, interchange with relative ease on the pitch, and crucially, cover for one another when one needs to be rested.
Ultimately, on their own, Simons and Garnacho would be excellent signings, but together they could become unplayable at Chelsea.

RomaPress also note that fellow Italian outlet Leggo have reported that Turkish giants Besiktas have made contact with Roma to discuss a potential deal for Dovbyk.

It is now down to the 49ers and Daniel Farke to push to beat the likes of Besiktas and West Ham to his signature this summer, because he would be an even better signing than Muniz.
Why Leeds should sign Artem Dovbyk
The 28-year-old attacker is a striker who has the potential to deliver goals at an impressive rate in the Premier League, as a star who has proven his quality in multiple top European leagues.
Dovbyk, who was described as “dominant” in the air by analyst Ben Mattinson, has impressed in both LaLiga and the Serie A since he moved away from Ukraine in the summer of 2023, after scoring 38 goals in 47 games in his last two seasons in the Premier Liga.
The £30m-rated star has hit double figures for goals five times at league level throughout his career, including in each of the last four seasons, whilst Muniz is yet to do it once.
Dovbyk has also scored 24 goals in a league season twice in his career, once in Ukraine and once in Spain, which suggests that he has the potential to be an incredibly prolific figure in front of goal for Leeds if he can adapt to English football.

Muniz also managed just three ‘big chances’ created and two assists in the league in that time, which suggests that Dovbyk is also more likely to provide a big threat as a creator, based on his 15 ‘big chances’ created in the last two campaigns.
These statistics suggest that the Roma star has the potential to offer far more to the team than the Fulham centre-forward, as he has delivered more as both a scorer and a creator of goals in the last couple of years.
It would be a bit more of a gamble for Leeds to take, as he has yet to prove himself in the Premier League, but they can be assured by the fact that he has scored goals at an impressive rate in the Spanish and Italian top-flights already.
